The second season of Netflix’s Wednesday has recorded 50 million views within five days of release, making it the second most-viewed English-language TV week in the platform’s history, behind only its first season.

Part one of season two, consisting of four episodes, premiered on Wednesday, August 6 and reached the milestone by Sunday, August 10.

According to Netflix, the series also achieved the highest number of first-week country rankings among English-language TV shows, holding the top position in 91 countries.

While season two’s initial figures fall short of season one’s November 2022 debut, the two releases differ in structure. Season one was released in full, whereas season two is being released in two parts.

Additionally, Netflix has since adjusted its measurement methods, now reporting viewership in total hours viewed and converting this figure into views based on runtime.

In its launch week, season two recorded 201.6 million hours viewed, which equates to 50 million views.

The Jenna Ortega-led series remains Netflix’s most popular English-language TV show overall, with a total of 252.1 million views to date.

Based on current performance, season two could enter the platform’s all-time top 10 most popular shows, where the tenth-ranked title, Stranger Things 3, holds 94.8 million views.

During the week of August 4, Wednesday season two was the most-watched Netflix TV title, with season one returning to the top 10 in second place, gaining 8.6 million views.

Other top-performing series included Untamed with 7.2 million views and Hunting Wives with 4.7 million views.
