CNG Closure: Gas supply arrangement challenged
The petition, moved by Advocate Shahid Gillani, holds that Punjab is being discriminated against in gas supply.
LAHORE:
A writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against the closure of gas supply to CNG stations in Punjab for two-and-a-half days each week. The petition, moved by Advocate Shahid Gillani, holds that Punjab is being discriminated against in gas supply. He asked the court to direct the government to appoint a commission to devise a new formula for the distribution of gas resources among the provinces. He said a lot of appointments in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority were made as political favours and this had affected the authority.
