Death Anniversary: Ashfaq, Wazir remembered

The death anniversary of writers Ashfaq Ahmed and Wazir Agha was observed on Wednesday. Quran khwani was arranged for Ahmed at his Model Town residence. Besides his wife Bano Qudsia, relatives, neighbours and colleagues attended. Ahmed passed away on September 7, 2004 at the age of 79. He was a prolific writer and author of many books including Zavia, Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay, Tota Kahani, Gadaria, Safar Dar Safar, Talqeen Shah, Mun Chalay Ka Sauda, Hairat Kadah, and Baba Sahba. Dr Wazir Agha’s son Salim Qizalbash said the family had decided to hold prayers for the writer at his hometown in Sargodha on Thursday. He said Agha was buried a day after his death on September 7 last year at a graveyard in Wazirkot’s Chak No56. Agha wrote over 40 books.
