At least seven people killed in Karachi after speeding coaster crashes

Rescue worker says injured have been transferred to Civil Hospital for medical aid; fatalities include women, children

KARACHI:

At least seven people were killed when the driver of an overspeeding coaster lost control and the vehicle overturned after crashing into a pavement in Karachi.

Rescue officials reported that the accident occurred near Mauripur Gate 6 near Mama Godam.

The crash resulted in the deaths of seven people including women and children.

Emergency responders provided immediate medical assistance to the injured. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Civil Hospital for further legal procedures.

Earlier this week, on Friday, five people, including women, died when an ambulance collided with an oil tanker late Friday night.

According to the police, a Rescue 1122 ambulance carrying a paraplegic patient from Attock to Rawalpindi collided with an oil tanker, resulting in five fatalities, including three women and the paraplegic patient while three others suffered critical injuries.

On May 23, a jeep accident in the Liran village of Abbottabad resulted in six deaths and seven injuries. The victims were travelling from Kaliyan Bazaar, Azad Kashmir after buying some goods when their vehicle fell into a deep ditch.

Meanwhile, on April 11, at least 11 people were killed and more than 30 others injured in an accident involving devotees going to Shah Noorani shrine near Hub on Wednesday night.
