19 die in road accidents

LAHORE:

At least 19 people died, whereas 1,316 were injured in 1,187 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of them, 610 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 706 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites by Rescue Medical Teams.

About 75% of the road accidents involved motorbikes.

The data showed that 676 adult and 41 underage drivers, 142 pedestrians and 517 passengers were among the victims. The statistics showed that 231 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 266 persons, followed by 94 in Faisalabad with 102 victims and 80 in Multan with 82 victims.
