Watch Dua Lipa and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker sing The Less I Know the Better at Glastonbury
Dua Lipa electrified the Glastonbury Festival on Friday night, not only with her performance but also with the numerous fireworks that illuminated the stage.
The pop sensation delighted the audience by inviting Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, who produced her latest album "Radical Optimism," to join her for a duet on the band's popular song "The Less I Know the Better."
Speaking to the audience, Lipa expressed that she had envisioned this moment. “I have written this moment down, I’ve wished for it, I’ve dreamt it,” she said. “When I wrote it down, I said I really want to headline the Pyramid stage on a Friday night so I can party the next two days at the best place on earth.”
Lipa's performance was a grand production, featuring a large number of dancers and a live band. While she was clearly well-prepared and had much of the audience dancing, many festival attendees departed before its conclusion, possibly because it overlapped with performances by Fontaines DC, Jamie xx, and Jungle.
Lipa is one of the headliners at this year's U.K. festival, sharing the spotlight with Coldplay and SZA. Her third album, "Radical Optimism," was released in May and immediately topped the U.K. Albums chart, marking the biggest opening weekend for a British woman in three years.
In an interview with Radio Times ahead of the festival, the London-born artist stated that the ultimate measure for all her music has been, "How will this sound at Glastonbury?"
“That is the pinnacle for me,” she said.
