Jennie breaks records: first K-pop soloist to smash Spotify with a billion streams in 2024

BLACKPINK's Jennie continues to rewrite history in the K-Pop industry. 

As of June 29, 2024, Jennie has achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify in just 179 days this year. This makes her the first and only female K-pop soloist to ever achieve this milestone within a single calendar year.

This record-breaking achievement isn't the only one Jennie holds in 2024. She also maintains her position as the most streamed female K-pop soloist on Spotify for the entire year so far. 

Jennie's solo debut in November 2018 with the hit track "Solo" solidified her status as a powerhouse artist. 

The song's music video became the first by a female K-pop soloist to reach 1 billion views on YouTube in November 2023. 

While Jennie hasn't released a full solo album yet, her captivating stage presence, rapping prowess, and undeniable charisma have garnered her a massive fan base, affectionately called BLINKs. 

Fans eagerly await her highly anticipated solo album, JNK1, which is expected to further propel her music career to even greater heights.
