Madhuri Dixit slammed for collaborating with Pakistani promoter

Bollywood star faced criticism for planning an event with Siddiqui in Houston, who is 'blacklisted' by the Indian govt

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit is facing criticism after she announced a collaboration with Houston-based Pakistani promoter Rehan Siddiqui.

On Friday, Sunanda Vashisht shared a photo of the event poster featuring Madhuri and Rehan, scheduled for August 2024 in Houston, Texas, just a day after Independence Day.

Siddiqui allegedly has ties to ISI and is blacklisted by the Indian government.

Twitter users criticized Madhuri Dixit for collaborating with Rehan and urged the actress not to do so. They also shared a four-year-old letter from BJP minister Kishan Reddy stating that the Indian government had ‘blacklisted’ Rehan.

.Dixit is being urged to cut all ties with the Pakistani promoter and withdraw from the event.

So far, the actress has not responded to the controversy.

Last month, Dixit faced backlash for posting and then deleting a message condemning Israel's missile attack on Rafah.

Recently, Madhuri Dixit produced the Marathi film 'Panchak,' featuring Adinath Kothare, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Bharti Achrekar, and others. She is also busy shooting for 'Dance Deewane 3.'
