The pre-production for the highly anticipated second season of renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's hit debut web series, 'Heera Mandi: The Diamond Bazaar' has been started.

In a recent interview, the show's production designer, Subrata Chakraborty, confirmed that work on the set design for 'Heera Mandi' season 2 has started. However, he noted that it is still too early to determine when shooting will commence. "We have initiated the set design for the upcoming season, but the shooting schedule is yet to be finalized," Chakraborty explained.
Chakraborty added that Bhansali is currently busy with another project. "Bhansali will announce the shooting dates for 'Heera Mandi 2' once he completes his current commitment.

Following Chakraborty's statement, Indian media outlets have speculated that Bhansali might soon announce the release date for 'Heera Mandi 2' as the pre-production activities gain momentum. This aligns with Bhansali's recent joint Instagram post with Netflix India on June 3rd, where he officially announced the second season writing "Mehfil phir se jamegi, Heeramandi: Season 2 jo aayega"
According to media reports, the storyline of season 2 might take an intriguing turn as the courtesans relocate from Lahore to Mumbai and Kolkata following the partition of India.
