ISLAMABAD:

A citizen on Thursday filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking the return of the electoral symbol of the ‘cricket bat’ to the PTI and allowing its independent members of parliament to join the party.

The application was filed by Engineer Qazi Mohammad Saleem under Section 184(3). The chief justice of Pakistan and the ECP have been made parties in the application.

In the plea, it has been argued that the PTI should be given reserved seats under the principle of proportional representation.

It maintained that the PTI had bagged more votes than all other parties in the general elections.
