Women protection road squad launched

VEHARI:

The district police have established the first-of-its-kind “Women Protection Squad” to ensure the safety of women travellers on roads.

This squad will patrol central and main roads of the city to provide security and peace of mind.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mansoor Aman, emphasised that the squad's mission was not only to protect women but also to empower them to help eliminate crime from society.

The Women Protection Squad is organised into circles, each consisting of four lady police officers patrolling on two motorcycles. These officers are armed and fully equipped to handle any criminal or suspicious activities.

The lady police officers in the squad are undergoing modern training to enhance their capabilities.

This squad will respond promptly to women's calls and offer immediate assistance.

Community leaders have praised the initiative, highlighting its importance in safeguarding women's rights.

Citizens' Association Chairman Rana Muhammad Usman, along with other notable figures expressed their support. They commended the Vehari police for their dedication to stopping violence and ensuring women's safety, acknowledging women as an integral part of society.
