Alexis Stone stuns as Devil Wears Prada’s Miranda Priestly at Balenciaga's Paris Fashion Week show
SFX artist Alexis Stone attended the Balenciaga couture show completely transformed into Miranda Priestly: with her chin lowered and her face perfectly shaped to match Meryl Streep's features.
On June 26, as soon as Stone entered the venue, she appeared instantly disappointed with the incompetence of nearly everyone around her.

“Fashion is built up of a lot of gay guys like me,” Stone said. “We’re enamoured not only by women but female villains, because I think we see a lot of ourselves in them. Sure, Miranda isn’t the kindest editor in the world, but I can tell you that there are nuances in Streep’s characterisation that I have seen time and time again throughout fashion. The film resonates for a reason.”
The film struck a chord with Stone, though perhaps not as profoundly as Ugly Betty and its sharp editor Alexis Meade, who was the inspiration for Alexis's own name.
“Yeah, the trans woman who comes back to life after faking her own death – like imitating art,” he continued. “Demna and I had originally planned on ‘doing Miranda’ for this year’s Met Gala. But there were forces above that prohibited us from doing so. It was only a matter of time until we took her to couture week. Most people at a fashion show are focused on looking their best, but I want to look like someone else.
