Shifty Shellshock's posts reveal struggles before death
Shifty Shellshock shared multiple online posts about his struggles before his passing.
The Crazy Town lead singer, who’s real name is Seth Binzer, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Monday, June 24. The medical examiner has yet to determine the cause of death. Binzer was 49 years old.
On April 28, the rapper candidly discussed his need for love in an Instagram post.
“I’m a lover than a fighter …but the one I need to love more Instead of fight with is myself .. mr shifty true Love # Sober alive and grateful,” Binzer captioned the photo.
The post featured a nighttime photo of graffiti on the ground that read "True Love" in black and pink ink, along with "Long Beach" and a heart. Fans expressed their support in the comments.
“Sending you love & strength. I'm here, always,” one person wrote.
Another said, “I think of you, and remember sober CAN be accomplished. Your days of island abandonment and swimming in shark water are over. I'm thankful I don't have to worry about you anymore. 1 day at a time Seth.”
Binzer had a history of substance abuse issues, appearing on VH1's Celebrity Rehab and Sober House. In 2012, he was hospitalized after falling into a coma but eventually recovered, as reported by Variety.
The same outlet also noted that Binzer was arrested for a DUI in 2022
