Francia Raisa reveals shocking new diagnosis after thinking she only had PCOS
Francia Raisa, known for her role in 'How I Met Your Father', has candidly shared her latest health update regarding her reproductive well-being.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, June 26, the 35-year-old actress disclosed a new diagnosis that could potentially impact her ability to conceive.
Raisa detailed her journey with health issues, including her previously known condition, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which she first revealed in August 2023.
However, she revealed an additional diagnoses of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and endometriosis, highlighting the heightened risks these pose for future pregnancies.
"I've been very open about my health, especially my PCOS. But in the past two weeks, things took a serious turn," Raisa wrote, reflecting on the unexpected news from her recent medical consultations.
"I found a new gynecologist who told me that I also have SIBO and endometriosis, which puts me at a very high risk of having complicated pregnancies in the future. I was in shock."
Expressing frustration with the state of women's healthcare research, Raisa emphasized the need for more focused studies to address women's specific health challenges adequately.
She also touched on her advocacy for abortion rights, citing recent discussions with Vice President Kamala Harris in Arizona.
Several comments on the post appreciated Raisa for being vocal about women’s health, while some referenced the grave lack of healthcare in Gaza.
One user wrote, “What about women’s healthcare in Gaza which is literally under attack? Can you imagine having c section without anesthesia, no clean equipment and under bombardment?? Maybe you could have talk to @vp about that??”
