Two suspected robbers killed in ‘police encounter’

Two suspected robbers were killed in a police encounter on Sargodha Road, while two others managed to escape. The police seized weapons and motorcycles from the deceased and started a search for their accomplices.
A police spokesperson stated that the a Dolphin Force team on patrol duty in Rehmanpura signaled the motorcyclists to stop, but they opened fire on the personnel.
The robbers entered a citizen Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed’s house, climbed onto the roof and continued firing at the police.
The SHOs of Sargodha Road and Civil Lines police stations reached the spot along with a heavy contingent of police after receiving information about the encounter.
A resident of Chak 527GB in Samundari, Akhtar Ali, and an accomplice were killed in the incident. Police officials said Akhter was nominated in cases of robbery.
