Two killed in separate incidents
Two men were gunned down in separate incidents in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a young man was fatally shot in the limits of Cantt police station. Muhammad Shakeel informed the police that his brother Mushtaq received repeated calls from Fayaz and Ashiq, who insisted that he meet them near Saddar railway station.
After the Fajr prayer, Mushtaq informed Shakeel about his plans and left to meet them. After several hours, upon arriving at the railway station road, Shakeel was devastated to discover his brother's lifeless body, allegedly murdered by Ashiq and his accomplices. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
In a separate incident, a man was killed on suspicion of having secretly done Nikkah with a girl in the area of Chauntra police station. Muhammad Ramazan said he and his brother, Muhammad Javed, reside at Waheed Butt's camp near Jada village.
He added that they jointly cultivate crops on the land. After levelling the land with a tractor, Ramazan returned to the camp in the evening, where his brother was watering the cornfield.
Ramazan saw a motorcycle and rickshaw approaching. Six individuals approached the camp, Ramazan recognised them. Javed instructed him and everyone to sit down to talk.
Later, Sahar Gul and his accomplices accompanied Javed to the terrace. Ramazan was also called to the terrace. Gul caught Javed and other unknown persons caught him, put their hands on his mouth and tied him with ropes. Gul and others retrieved their pistols, struck Javed with the butts, and tightened a rope around his neck, inflicting severe injuries. The assailants then fled the scene on a motorcycle and rickshaw. Ramazan released himself from the ropes opened himself and discovered that Muhammad Javed had succumbed to his injuries.
