Janel Parrish has revealed she recently underwent surgery for endometriosis, providing an update on her health journey.

The "Pretty Little Liars" actress disclosed the details in an Instagram story, explaining that she had cysts and scar tissue removed.

"I usually keep my private life private… but I wanted to share this if it can help other women suffering to know they’re not alone," Parrish wrote, sharing a photo from her hospital bed, holding the hand of a loved one.

The actress described her diagnosis after enduring months of severe pain and confusion. The surgery, she noted, was necessary to remove the cysts and scar tissue caused by the condition.

Parrish decided to make her experience public to foster discussion around endometriosis. "To my Endo sisters, there is so little information out there about this and there is no cure… so it is easy for us to feel helpless, scared and alone," she wrote.

"Seeing other women posting about their experiences made ME feel stronger."

Her message aims to keep the conversation about endometriosis ongoing. "I hope this helps to keep the conversation about Endo open and flowing, so we can raise awareness and lift each other up," she concluded. "We ARE strong and we got this. I got you."

Alongside her health update, Parrish shared photos of her two dogs with captions “Best nurse” and “Other best nurse.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines endometriosis as a condition where the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, leading to pelvic pain and reproductive issues.

The WHO estimates around 10 percent of reproductive-age people with uteruses, approximately 190 million worldwide, are affected by the condition.

Since the end of "Pretty Little Liars" in 2017, Parrish has featured in various notable projects, including the "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" trilogy and "Magnum P.I." She also competed in the tenth season of "The Masked Singer," finishing in third place as Gazelle.
