The Battlefield 6 Open Beta has drawn significant attention ahead of its official start date, with nearly 10,000 players already preloading the beta on Steam despite servers not yet being online.
According to SteamDB, the Open Beta reached a peak of 9,463 players on the platform following the preload launch on August 4.
At the time of reporting, more than 3,700 users had the application open, even though gameplay has not yet begun.
The early access period for Battlefield 6 begins on August 7, while the wider public can access the beta from August 9.
In the meantime, players are using the available time to prepare. With matches currently offline, the beta still allows users to customise settings such as controls and audio in anticipation of the live rollout.
The high preload numbers suggest strong early interest, building on positive reception to recent gameplay previews.
Early footage and development updates have led fans to express optimism about a potential return to form for the long-running shooter franchise.
EA and the developers have previously confirmed a more grounded visual style for the title, avoiding the crossover-heavy direction seen in past entries. This approach, combined with new gameplay features, has contributed to the anticipation ahead of the beta.
