Joseph Quinn is set to make his mark as Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, but he's giving major props to those who have come before him.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Quinn, 30, acknowledged that Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan have "big boots to fill" and that he's been inspired by their portrayals of the superhero.

"I haven't spoken to Chris Evans or Michael B. Jordan, but I think it's a question of trying to find something... well, not different. It's going to come from me, I guess," Quinn says. "I've definitely been inspired by their portrayals, so we'll see how it goes."

Quinn's comments come ahead of the release of his new horror-thriller A Quiet Place: Day One, in which he stars alongside Lupita Nyong'o. The film serves as a spinoff prequel to the A Quiet Place franchise and follows Eric and Sam as they navigate a post-apocalyptic world where making a sound can mean certain death.

Quinn's character, Eric, is a new addition to the franchise, and the actor says he's been drawn to the project because of its unique take on the horror genre. "I find it hard to shut up, and that is imperative in survival in this world," he jokes. "I wouldn't bet on me in this race."

A Quiet Place: Day One is in theaters Friday, June 28. The Fantastic Four movie is slated for release in 2025.
