Man arrested for acid attack on wife, daughter

Police have arrested a man for throwing acid on his wife and three-year-old daughter near Khurshidpura graveyard within the remits of Saeedabad police station on May 15.

According to Lt (retd) Azhar Javed, SSP Investigation District Keamari, Amin, son of Abdul Sattar, carried out the acid attack on his wife, Iqra, a recruit constable in Balochistan police, and their daughter, Maryam.

Both victims sustained severe burns to their faces and bodies and are currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.

A case was registered under Section 336B at
the Saeedabad police station. Amin went into hiding after the attack, while police formed a special team to trace and arrest him.

Through the use of technical resources, the team tracked down and arrested the accused.

Investigations are ongoing to find out the motive and circumstances of the attack.
