Boxer Roy Jones Jr. looses his son in tragic suicide
The boxing champion enjoyed a remarkable career, achieving 66 wins with 47 by knockout.
Today, former boxing champion Roy Jones Jr. shared that his son DeAndre Jones tragically passed away from suicide on Saturday. DeAndre was 32 years old. Roy and his wife Natlyn are said to have three sons: DeShaun, DeAndre, and Roy Jones III.
Roy took to Instagram to announce, "Unfortunately, my son DeAndre took his life on Saturday."
He went on to say, "I'm so thankful that God allowed me to come home Friday night to spend the last night of his life with me and the family," he added. "I know a lot of people are going through tough times right now, but nothing is worth taking your own life."
The boxing champion enjoyed a remarkable career, achieving 66 wins with 47 by knockout. A native of Pensacola, Florida, he returned from retirement to face Mike Tyson in an exhibition match in 2020.
