Sean Penn, the actor and two-time Oscar winner, is relishing his single life at 63. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Penn shared his evolving perspective on romance, emphasizing his desire for personal freedom and a departure from the emotional turmoil of past relationships.

“I’m just free. If I’m going to be ina relationship, I’m still going to be free, or I'm not going to be in it, and I’m not going to be hurting,” Penn stated, indicating a shift in his approach to love. "I don't sense I'll have my heart broken by romance again."

Penn's romantic history includes marriages to Madonna and Robin Wright, as well as a more recent union with Australian actress Leila George, which ended in divorce in 2022. He has also been linked to other notable figures in the entertainment industry.

Reflecting on his experiences, Penn expressed a newfound appreciation for the peace and tranquility that comes with singlehood. He contrasted this with memories of past relationships where he felt pressure to constantly please his partner, often without reciprocation.

Penn credited his "friends in the female department" for showing him that relationships don't have to be emotionally draining or filled with drama. Inspired by their healthy connections, he now seeks to avoid unnecessary complications and embrace a more serene approach to love.

The actor's latest film, "Daddio," co-starring Dakota Johnson, is set to hit theaters on June 28. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career and personal life, Penn appears to be embracing the freedom and self-discovery that comes with being single.
