Land revenue official assaulted in Okara

Suspects film incident, video goes viral

OKARA:

A land revenue official was subjected to torture by some influential people who recorded the assault, later making the video viral.

DPO Tariq Aziz Sandhu ordered ASP Renala Khurd Adnan Gul to conduct an inquiry, emphasizing that the suspects' bails should be cancelled and the investigation conducted on merit.

The suspects, holding a grudge over a legal dispute, attacked Riazul Haq.

In the viral footage, the suspects can be seen putting a leash around Riaz's neck and beating him with fists, kicks, and shoes.

The video also shows Riaz pleading for his life as the suspects force him to rub his nose on the ground.

The FIR, filed at Satghara police station, names two known suspects, Rustam and another individual, along with six unidentified assailants.

The suspects have secured bail from the local court until June 26.

District police spokesperson Irfan Sandhu stated that Riazul Haq had previously filed a theft report against the suspects at Gogera police station, accusing them of stealing grapes from an orchard. In retaliation, the suspects ambushed Riaz and subjected him to public humiliation and torture.
