LGH bans senior doctors’ leaves

LAHORE:

Principal Amiruddin Medical College Dr Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar has banned the leave of senior doctors and cancelled the summer vacations of professors to ensure the timely provision of medical facilities at Lahore General Hospital (LGH).

This decision was announced during a meeting of the Academic Council, chaired by Principal PGMI Dr Al-Fareed Zafar, with senior professors and doctors in attendance.

During the meeting, Prof Al-Fareed emphasised the importance of providing the best possible treatment to every patient, ensuring that those traveling long distances to LGH receive prompt and effective care.

Alongside Principal PGMI, Medical Superintendent Dr Faryad Hussain reviewed the medical facilities available in both the outpatient and emergency departments.

According to the hospital administration, over 3,500 patients were attended to in the emergency and OPD on Monday, receiving medical examinations and diagnostic tests.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique chaired a meeting regarding the performance of government hospitals. He made a detailed review of the treatment of patients in government hospitals. The health minister said that vice chancellors, principals, doctors and nurses deserve appreciation for ensuring regular treatment of patients in hospitals of Punjab.
