Police discover three-day-old bodies of elderly couple in Lahore
The police discovered the bodies of a couple, believed to be three days old, in their home on Monday.
According to Lahore police, Abdul Latif, 75, and his wife Abida, 65, were discovered dead in a room on the upper floor of their nephew's house in Baghbanpura, a town in Shalimar tehsil of Lahore.
The couple had been residing there for the last 12 years.
Forensic teams gathered evidence at the scene, and police have started an investigation, exploring multiple angles including homicide.
On March 18, the Rawalpindi police claimed to have traced out the blind murder case of a 22-year-old girl working at a shopping mart in the Dhoke Najoo area of Pirwadhai police station.
According to the police, the landlord turned out to be the murderer of the female victim. She was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors during a bitter argument over gas and electricity bill transactions, the police said.
Meanwhile, on February 28, a murder accused was shot and killed allegedly by his brother-in-law in the premises of the judicial complex in Rawalpindi city, witnesses and police said.
The daylight shooting at the “well-guarded” place in the city’s downtown left a question mark on the so-called and tall police claims of tight security.
The shooting incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. The suspect was taken into custody from the crime scene moments after he confessed to the crime at the crime scene and invited the cops present nearby.
