Jason Biggs' wife Jenny Mollen reveals she didn't watch 'American Pie' until after marriage

Jason Biggs' wife, Jenny Mollen, recently disclosed that she had not seen "American Pie" before marrying the actor. Mollen, an actress and author, shared with The Post that she considered herself "too highbrow theater major at the time" and was more interested in indie films. "I was too busy hanging out at like an indie video store," Mollen explained.

Biggs, 46, found his wife’s initial lack of interest in the film "refreshing." He said, "Yeah, she hadn’t seen it when we were together, which was actually quite refreshing."

Mollen, 45, eventually watched the 1999 comedy, including Biggs’ famous scene involving an apple pie, during their first year of marriage. "I mean I was horrified," Mollen admitted. "But it was funny."

The couple, now hosts of TBS’ revival of "Dinner and a Movie," reminisced about their first date, which was set up by Mollen’s sister at Sushi Park on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. "It was actually a double date. Basically, it was her sister and this guy she was seeing at the time, they set us up and we ended up going the four of us," Biggs said.

The couple got married nine months later. Reflecting on their first date, Mollen recounted how Biggs asked her out officially via text. "He texted me a couple days after and wrote, ‘Fancy a dinner date?’ which, I . . . thought was so strange."

Mollen humorously remembered the yellow sweater vest, or "svest," that Biggs wore on their first date. "It looked like he was about to go golfing in a ‘Caddyshack’ movie," she joked. Biggs replied, "I was going for ‘Caddyshack’ Chic. ‘Caddy chic,’ I call it."

The couple, who reside in the West Village with their two sons, Sid, 10, and Lazlo, 6, married at a FedEx Kinko’s off the 101 Freeway in Calabasas, CA, in 2008. Mollen explained their unconventional wedding, "Our parents were driving us crazy at the time. We were in our 20s and didn’t want to be beholden to whatever their ideas of our union looked like."

They called a justice of the peace who suggested meeting at the shipping retailer due to her busy schedule. "We were just young and excited and insanely impulsive. And we jumped in the car and were like, ‘We’ll be right there,’" Mollen recalled.

Biggs added, "Actually, we had to do verbal vows to make it official in addition to signing the paperwork. And we did it out by the car because we had our dogs with us." The couple held their three small dogs in the parking lot shared with a Taco Bell, cars whizzing by on the freeway, making for a unique and memorable wedding experience.
