Couple killed by ‘family members’

A married couple was allegedly shot dead on the pretext of honour in Sanawan village near Kot Addu.

According to police officials, Shazia Bibi had contracted marriage with Tariq last year after divorcing her ex-husband Tanvir through court. Unhappy with her new marriage, Shazia’s father, brother and ex husband entered into her home and allegedly killed the couple.

The police said they were conducting raids to arrest the woman’s father Hashim, brother Dilawar and former husband Tanvir.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital by the local police. Regional Police Officer Sajjad Hassan Khan ordered arrest of the murderers.
