King Charles hopes Archie and Lilibet reconcile family amidst tensions with Harry and Meghan

King Charles seeks reconciliation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle through their children, claims royal expert.

The relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the senior members of the Royal Family has been strained since the couple moved to the US in 2020.

This tension has resulted in their children, Archie and Lilibet, spending limited time with their Windsor relatives, particularly their grandfather, King Charles. Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes this separation is harmful to the young royals and hopes Harry will not adopt Meghan’s approach to family disputes.

"Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings," Bond told OK! Magazine. "Little people who are part of your bloodline and have had nothing to do with family quarrels and tensions. Utterly innocent tiny tots who deserve to know and love their grandparents."

Bond emphasised King Charles's desire to know his grandchildren and create lasting memories with them. She suggested that the children might serve as a bridge for reconciliation. "The children may provide the most compelling link between Charles and Harry, and convince them both to forgive, if not forget, the bitter rows of the past," she added.

Jennie concluded by expressing her hope that Harry won’t follow Meghan’s example of staying estranged from her family. "Maybe Archie and Lilibet hold the key to reconciliation between Charles and Harry," she said.
