Cricket: ‘Harbhajan’s basics not strong’

Erapalli Prasanna has questioned the effectiveness of his contemporary counterpart Harbhajan Singh.

NEW DELHI:
Former India off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna has questioned the effectiveness of his contemporary counterpart Harbhajan Singh while highlighting flaws in his technique. “He’s delivering from a very chest-on position,” he said. “Consequently, his length has suffered. If your length is awry, your line is affected too. The fact that his basics aren’t strong –he doesn’t pivot or get his body behind his action – is not helping matters either.” Harbhajan managed combined figures of two for 287 in the first two Tests in India’s tour of England.
