Football: ‘Wenger rumours are rubbish’
The club’s board are not considering a replacement for manager Arsene Wenger.
LONDON:
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is insistent that despite Arsenal’s worst start in recent history in the Premier League, including an 8-2 drubbing against Manchester United, the club’s board are not considering a replacement for manager Arsene Wenger. “It’s complete rubbish and absolute nonsense” said Hill-Wood regarding rumours that Wenger’s future was in doubt. “I think he’s happy and we’re happy.” Wenger has brought in a number of new players, and Hill-Wood is hopeful that they will make an impact. “I think, generally speaking, they are going to improve the squad.”
