Luke Combs shares emotional experience of missing second son's birth

Luke Combs shares his emotional experience of missing the birth of his second son, Beau, while on tour in Australia.

Country singer Luke Combs recently opened up about missing the birth of his second son, Beau, while he was on tour in Australia. In an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Combs described the experience as “really hard” to face.

Combs, 32, revealed that Beau’s birth in August 2023 was “one of the best and one of the worst days in [his] life.” He explained that he received a text message from his wife, Nicole, 31, informing him of the early arrival two and a half weeks before her due date. The message read, “I’m so sorry, I really tried to not have the baby while you’re gone.”

Despite being physically absent, Combs was able to witness the birth via FaceTime. “I got to see him be born, which was awesome,” he shared. Combs praised the support systems they had in place, noting that his “closest friends … work for” him and were present during the event.

Reflecting on the incident, Combs highlighted the challenges of his profession, saying, “It sums up, in a lot of ways, some of the bad parts of the music business. Your schedule’s crazy, and you’re traveling all over the place. It’s not like I can drop everything I’m doing and fly 18 hours home.”

Luke Combs and Nicole have been together since 2016 and got engaged two years later. They married in 2020 in Florida. Their first son, Tex, was born in June 2022, followed by Beau in August 2023. Although Combs keeps his children’s faces off social media, he recently posted rare photos of them on Instagram to promote his new album, "Fathers & Sons."
