France captain Kylian Mbappé has been spotted wearing a tricolore-inspired mask during a recent training session, following a nose injury sustained during France's victory over Austria at Euro 2024. The incident occurred when Mbappé, 25, collided with Austria's Kevin Danso in the 86th minute of Monday's match, necessitating his substitution due to a broken nose.

As reported by Reuters concerns initially arose regarding Mbappé's availability for France's upcoming Group D fixture against the Netherlands, scheduled for Friday. However, French manager Didier Deschamps provided reassurance to reporters on Thursday, stating, "Everything is going in the right direction after this major shock he had.”

Mbappé, who had X-rays confirming the nose fracture at a local hospital immediately after the incident, has shown signs of recovery. According to France forward Antoine Griezmann, "Kylian is doing well. The swelling has come down on his nose." Griezmann remarked, Reuters reported.

In subsequent training sessions, Mbappé progressed from wearing plasters over his nose to a custom-made mask featuring his initials. However, UEFA regulations prohibit the use of such personalized masks during matches, stipulating that medical equipment on the field must be single-colored and devoid of team or manufacturer logos.

France, alongside the Netherlands, both secured victories in their opening Euro 2024 matches, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated clash between the two sides in Group D.
