Three injured in clash over family dispute

Police say nephews stormed their uncle’s house, attacking with knives & sticks

HARIPUR:

Two women and a man suffered injuries during a clash over a family dispute at a house in the limits of Sarai Saleh police station on Thursday.

According to the police, nephews stormed their uncle’s house, triggering an attack with weapons, knives, and sticks. Zareen Khan held a press conference at the Haripur Press Club alongside his son Zubair Khan, where he said that both his sons, Zubair Khan and Khalid Parvez, had married his sister’s daughters. “Zubair was involved in a family court case, and two days ago, the court had ordered her daughter-in-law and son to erect a partition wall in their shared home and live separately. As we were constructing a partition wall in our home suddenly, the accused Tanveer Ahmad, Iftikhar Ahmad Pasran, Muhammad Nazir, and Mudassir, came in a van.”

Iftikhar Ahmad, who is an employee of the Agriculture Department immediately opened fire while Mudassir caught Zubair Khan and Tanveer Ahmad stabbed his daughter-in-law and son, leaving them both seriously injured.

The attackers then fled the scene. Muhammad Zareen further said that he had raised his accused nephews for 15 years. “They injured my children and even my 78-year-old wife,” he lamented. “Despite the brutal attack on my home, the police failed to register a case,” Zareen warned that if any harm befell his sons or family members, he would hold the accused responsible.

He appealed to the authorities—DPO Haripur, SP Investigation, and MS Dr Mohsin Raza—to ensure the immediate arrest and prosecution of the accused, bringing them to justice.
