Lyari to host Benazir Bhutto’s 71st birth anniversary today

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi division will organise the 71st birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Friday (today) in the Chakiwara area of Lyari where PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the event.

This was announced at the party's meeting presided over by PPP Karachi President Saeed Ghani at the People's Secretariat on Thursday.

PPP Sindh General Secretary Syed Waqar Mehdi, Karachi Division General Secretary Javed Nagori, Deputy Mayor Salman Murad, Rashid Khaskheli, Shahina Sher Ali, presidents and general secretaries of all districts and officials of district organisations attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the preparations for the birth anniversary in detail besides other issues.

Saeed Ghani informed the meeting that the 71st birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto will be held in Lyari on the instructions of the party chairman.

Waqar Mehdi said that the youth wing and PSF will manage traffic flow during the event for which public and traffic routes have also been decided.

Javed Naguri said that despite the Eid holidays, the workers are excited to participate in the event and Lyari is already in a festive mood.

District south president Khalil said, "We have organised party's big events at this venue in the past and hope BB's 71st birthday celebration will also be a grand event.

Shahina Sher Ali of the women's wing said that women workers from all over the city will participate in this event.
