Tyler, The Creator has unexpectedly canceled his headlining performances at both Lollapalooza and Outside Lands music festivals this summer. The rapper, who made a surprise appearance at Kendrick Lamar's show last night, announced the news on Twitter, expressing his disappointment at not being able to fulfill his commitment and apologizing to fans for their disappointment.
"i hate saying this but i have to cancel lollapalooza and outside lands," Tyler tweeted. "i made a commitment that i can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were."
The organizers of both festivals quickly announced replacements for Tyler. Lollapalooza will now feature Megan Thee Stallion as a headliner, while Outside Lands has secured Sabrina Carpenter to fill the vacant spot.
Carpenter's career is currently skyrocketing, with her singles "Please Please Please" and "Espresso" holding the #2 and #3 positions on the US charts. This is expected to be her first time headlining a major North American festival. In addition to her festival appearances, Carpenter is set to release her new album, "Short N' Sweet," in August and has also announced a North American arena tour starting in September.
