Brazen abduction: 10 taken from Quetta resort
In a brazen act of terror, unknown armed men abducted at least ten people, including a government servant, from a recreation resort near Balochistan’s provincial capital after determining their ethnicity.
The incident took place at Shaban in the Zarghoon area on the outskirts of Quetta on Thursday. According to eyewitnesses, a number of armed men surrounded the resort where some families were picnicking.
The armed men reportedly checked the Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of the picnickers and initially held 14 of them. However, they later released four individuals, taking ten with them. One of the abductees was reported to be a customs officer.
All the people abducted from the resort were from Punjab. However, authorities did not provide details about the identities of the victims. Armed miscreants had also abducted people from Punjab from Zarghoon area last year. On May 9, seven barbers from Punjab were also executed in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.
