Joseph Gordon-Levitt defends age in ‘10 Things I Hate About You’: “I was 17!”
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known for his perpetually youthful appearance, revisited memories of his breakout role in '10 Things I Hate About You' during an appearance on CBS Mornings.
The actor, now promoting 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,' expressed disbelief at the film's 25th anniversary, remarking, "I must be old."
Reflecting on his teenage portrayal in the iconic rom-com, Gordon-Levitt shared an amusing anecdote. He recounted how a friend of his wife mistook his age at the time of filming, commenting, "My wife was talking to her friend who was like, ‘Oh, Joe was so cute in that movie! What was he, like 10 or 11?’ I was 17!"
The actor humorously disclosed this on CBS Mornings with co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson.
Transitioning to his current project, Gordon-Levitt discussed the surreal experience of working alongside Eddie Murphy in 'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,' highlighting Murphy's influence on him since childhood.
"My older brother was a huge Eddie Murphy fan," he shared, reminiscing about the comedic legend's impact.
Despite meeting his childhood idol, Gordon-Levitt praised Murphy's grounded demeanor on set.
"He’s so iconic. I’ll tell you though, his vibe is very down to earth," the actor affirmed. "He’s not that way, in my experience. He’s kind of just chill."
'Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,' starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Eddie Murphy, is set to premiere on Netflix on July 3, promising audiences a blend of nostalgia and new excitement.
