Formula One: Prew backs Hamilton’s approach
McLaren will not ask Lewis Hamilton to change his high-risk approach, according to principal race engineer Phil Prew.
LONDON:
McLaren will not ask Lewis Hamilton to change his high-risk approach, according to principal race engineer Phil Prew. Hamilton’s last four retirements have been the result of accidents, leading some experts to say that he needs to rein in his driving. However, Prew has backed Hamilton, saying that the accidents were a result of pushing to be closer to Red Bull and the same approach had proved successful when Hamilton won his world title in 2008. “Lewis gets results out of a very aggressive approach and we fully support that,” he said.
