Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the scope of Lahore's free Wi-Fi service has been expanded from 100 points to 200 points under the "CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi" scheme in Lahore, according to Punjab Safe Cities Authority.

Free Wi-Fi has been initiated in areas such as Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chuhng, Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, Maraka, and other regions.

CM Maryam Nawaz stated that under the Digital Punjab Vision, emergency free Wi-Fi service is being provided for citizens.

In emergencies, the service can be used to contact the police and family members, as well as to use the Women Safety App, Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp.

The service allows various applications to be downloaded and can also be used to book taxi rides.

It should be noted that the service is not available for Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other entertainment apps. The range of each free Wi-Fi device in Lahore extends up to 300 feet from the respective point.

Previously, the province initiated its inaugural air ambulance service. The rescue personnel have commenced training sessions in preparation for the service.

The primary objective of this air ambulance initiative is to extend coverage to districts in Punjab lacking rescue services. In its initial phase, rescue staff are undergoing rigorous training sessions. The Punjab Government has secured the lease of aircraft for the air ambulance service.

Government sources reveal that these aircraft will play a crucial role in transporting patients, particularly those with head injuries or multiple traumas requiring urgent medical attention

The chief minister said that the first air ambulance service in Pakistan and Punjab will start in June.
In her post on social media platform X, the chief minister said the first training session for the first air ambulance service had started and the service would start in June.
