Justin Timberlake's Hamptons DWI arrest: ‘I had one martini’

New details have emerged about Justin Timberlake's recent arrest for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons. 

The "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer, 43, was pulled over early Tuesday morning in the Sag Harbor community and subsequently charged with driving "in an intoxicated condition." 

He was arraigned and released a few hours later.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by NBC News, Timberlake admitted to officers, "I had one martini, and I followed my friends home." 

The report indicates that the pop star failed multiple field sobriety tests, including walking heel-to-toe and standing on one leg without using his arms for balance. 

Additionally, he allegedly refused to take a chemical impairment test.

The complaint, filed by Sag Harbor Village police officer Michael Arkinson, detailed Timberlake's condition at the time of arrest: "It was ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

The incident occurred after Timberlake had dinner at The American Hotel and was driving to a friend's house. 

The singer has pled not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to appear in court on July 26. Timberlake has enlisted the help of Sag Harbor Village attorney Ed Burke Jr. for his defense.

"I look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office," Burke Jr. stated in a comment to Entertainment Weekly.

Despite the legal trouble, Timberlake is set to continue his "Forget Tomorrow" world tour, with upcoming performances in Chicago this weekend and two shows at Madison Square Garden next week.
