Gayle King, co-host of CBS Mornings, shared her perspective on Justin Timberlake's recent DWI arrest, expressing her belief in his character while firmly denouncing drunk driving.

During Wednesday's episode, King acknowledged that the incident was a "mistake" but emphasized that Timberlake is a "really, really great guy" who is neither irresponsible nor reckless. She also referenced Billy Joel's cautious response to the news, appreciating his call for withholding judgment.

Despite her defense of Timberlake's character, King stressed that there is "never any excuse" for driving under the influence, regardless of the circumstances or resources available. She acknowledged the police reports indicating concerning behavior but reiterated that driving drunk is always unacceptable.

The incident occurred in the early hours of June 18th when Timberlake was pulled over while driving from the American Hotel to a friend's house in Sag Harbor. He refused a breathalyzer test and was cited for failing to maintain his lane and running a stop sign, leading to his arrest for DWI.

Timberlake was arraigned and released later that day, with a court date set for July 26th to address the charges.
