Kevin Costner, reflecting on his departure from the hit series "Yellowstone," expressed disappointment in how the rumors surrounding his exit were handled. Despite the controversy, the actor remains open to the possibility of returning to the show under the right circumstances.

In an interview with People, Costner emphasized his love for the show, its cast, and the world it depicted. He revealed that his initial commitment was for a single season, but he "stepped up" to extend it to five seasons as the show's popularity grew.

However, a 14-month hiatus in production caused scheduling conflicts with his film project, "Horizon: An American Saga."

Costner admitted feeling let down by the lack of support from the show's production team amidst the swirling rumors about his departure. "I was disappointed that nobody on their side... ever stepped up to defend what it was I actually did for them," he stated.

Despite the friction surrounding his exit, Costner expressed openness to returning to "Yellowstone" to conclude the Dutton family's story, but only if the conditions aligned with his vision for the character and the narrative. He emphasized that he couldn't have done more for the show than he already had.

The actor's potential return could provide a satisfying resolution for fans who were left wondering about John Dutton's fate after Costner's abrupt exit.
