Kristen Bell ditches cannabis for cartoons
Kristen Bell, the Frozen star and producer of the revived Reefer Madness: The Musical, recently revealed her evolving relationship with cannabis.
While she openly admits to enjoying "a lot of reefer in college," particularly due to her sensitivity to alcohol, her intake has significantly changed since becoming a mother.
"To be honest, I have not partaken in cannabis minus maybe a gummy or two in the last 15 years," Bell confessed to Deadline. "But that’s because I spend every night with my children, and we’re high on cartoons."
Despite her current abstinence, Bell fondly reminisced about a college experience where she, under the influence of cannabis, created what she believed to be the "most brilliant card game ever imagined."
"I put different marker numbers and shapes on all the cards and I wrote down the rules," she explained. "The next morning...it was absolute nonsense. But the night before, nothing had ever made more sense to me."
Bell humorously acknowledged that the world might never experience her "brilliant" creation, but the memory of feeling "very enlightened" remains.
While Bell may not be indulging in cannabis these days, she's fully immersed in the world of Reefer Madness: The Musical, a project she produced with Alan Cumming. This immersive theatrical experience brings the cult classic back to the stage, with Bell having previously starred in the 2005 movie adaptation.
The musical even received a "lovely gesture" of support from Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne, who attended opening night. Bell expressed her appreciation for Jolie's support, especially considering the musical's Los Angeles launch.
