Meghan Markle vs Victoria Beckham feud revealed in new biography
A new biography alleges Meghan Markle believed she was higher in the "social pecking order" than Victoria Beckham.
Tom Bower's book, 'The House of Beckham,' also claims Meghan was "irritated" by Victoria's greater wealth. The book explores the Beckhams' relationships with each other and other celebrities, including a supposed rift with the Sussexes.
According to Bower, Meghan felt superior due to her royal status and had little in common with Victoria. The book states: "In Meghan's celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame. As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order."
The biography highlights Victoria's attempts to befriend Meghan, stemming from her family's connection with Prince Harry and Prince William. Despite Victoria's efforts, such as offering beauty advice, tensions increased. Meghan is said to have requested free clothes and handbags from Victoria, which was denied by the Palace.
The book also mentions Meghan staying at the Beckhams' Beverly Hills home to avoid paparazzi. However, their relationship soured when it was reported that Victoria had given Meghan make-up advice. The Duke of Sussex reportedly accused the Beckhams of leaking stories, leading to a fallout.
Although invited to Harry and Meghan's 2018 wedding, the Beckhams were allegedly excluded from the wedding dinner. Further strain occurred when David Beckham invited Prince William and Kate to his son Brooklyn's wedding, excluding Harry and Meghan.
The Beckhams' loyalty to the royal family seems to have been rewarded, with David receiving a top charity ambassador role from King Charles. The book, 'The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power,' is set for release on June 20th.
