Broadway hit 'Merrily We Roll Along' gets 'Hamilton' treatment with professional filming

‘Merrily We Roll Along’ is being professionally filmed by RadicalMedia.

"Merrily We Roll Along," the acclaimed Broadway production featuring Tony winners Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe, along with nominee Lindsay Mendez, is being professionally filmed by RadicalMedia. This is the same company that produced proshot versions of "Hamilton" and "Come From Away."

A production insider confirmed to Deadline that the filming is taking place but could not specify future plans for the recorded performance, such as a TV broadcast, streaming, or theatrical release. The insider noted, “The show producers are filming their production of Merrily for posterity. That doesn’t happen very often. We’ll see what happens.”

Speculation about a professional recording of "Merrily We Roll Along" began last week when notices appeared along 44th Street in Manhattan, indicating that filming would occur on Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18. The Hudson Theatre, located on that block, is the venue where "Merrily We Roll Along" is performed.

On Sunday, the production won the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival. Jonathan Groff received the award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical, while Daniel Radcliffe won for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Additionally, Jonathan Tunick received a Tony for his orchestrations.
