Five killed in traffic, electrocution incidents on Eid ul Adha in Karachi
On the first day of Eid ul Adha, five people, including children, lost their lives, and two young girls were severely injured in separate traffic accidents and electrocution incidents in Karachi.
In the city’s Quaidabad Landhi Majeed Colony Bilawal Town area, a speeding unidentified vehicle hit pedestrians, injuring a boy and two young girls. They were immediately taken to Jinnah Hospital by Chhipa ambulance, where the severely injured boy succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The deceased boy was identified as six-year-old Musavir, son of Abdul Hameed Khan, while the injured girls were identified as Ayesha and Haleema. According to SHO Qaidabad, Zakirullah, the speeding Hiace van (registration number 0136) hit the children. The driver fled the scene, and the police have impounded the van and started searching for the driver. After legal formalities, the deceased boy’s body was handed over to his family.
In another incident, a young motorcyclist fell from Jinnah Bridge in the Docks police station jurisdiction, resulting in his death. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital for legal proceedings. The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Imtiaz Ali, son of Munir Ahmed, a resident of Baloch Goth, Orangi Town.

He had left home for a ride when his motorcycle slipped due to high speed, causing him to fall off the bridge and die on the spot. The motorcycle remained on the bridge. Docks police handed over the body to the family after legal formalities.
In the Ferozeabad police area, near Tipu Sultan Bridge on Shaheed-e-Millat Road, a motorcyclist was critically injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. He was taken to Jinnah Hospital by Chhipa ambulance, where he died during treatment. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Abdul Kareem, son of Muhammad. His residence could not be immediately determined.
Meanwhile, in the Joharabad police area, near Dastagir Block 15 Gulshan-e-Mustafa, a child was electrocuted at home. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Edhi ambulance. The deceased was identified as seven-year-old Arslan, son of Ishaq. According to rescue officials, the child was electrocuted by a water pump at home. Police handed over the body to the family after legal formalities.
In another electrocution incident, a man died while working at a puncture shop near Faizan Char Yar Mosque in Rozi Goth, Surjani Town police area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by Chhipa ambulance. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Adnan, son of Deen Muhammad. Police handed over the body to the family after completing legal proceedings.
