Kutcha dacoits lure their prey in women’s voice
Dacoits in kutcha area of Sindh including Thatta, Kandhkot and Kashmore districts are now employing new tactics to lure and loot people. They use women's voice to trap and abduct people.
Once considered no-go areas due to the prevalence of highway robbers, these districts are now witnessing a new form of deception that has also affected residents of Thatta.
In a recent incident, two labourers, identified as Muhammad Rahim Jakhro and Wahid Bakhsh Jakhro from Chatto Chand in Thatta, were lured by voices they believed to be women, inviting them to meet in Ghouspur, Kandhkot.
Police at the last check post in the kutcha area grew suspicious and stopped the men for questioning. The victims revealed they were responding to an invitation.
Police contacted the phone numbers given by the victims, discovering they belonged to dacoits. The so-called 'hosts' threatened police, warning them against interfering. Despite the threats, police immediately escorted the labourers to the SSP office, ensuring their safe return to Thatta.
