Shakira is currently in a phase of healing and personal growth.

After enduring a highly publicized breakup and facing personal challenges, the Colombian superstar, now 47, is rediscovering herself amid a significant revival in her career.

Reflecting on her current career trajectory, which spans over three decades and includes the potential for her biggest tour yet following the release of her seven-time platinum-certified album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, the "La Fuerte" singer attributes her resilience to the physical and emotional pain she experienced following her breakup with her ex-partner of 11 years, soccer player Gerard Piqué.

Shakira and her ex-partner, with whom she shares two children, announced their separation in June 2022.

Reports of infidelity emerged the following year. Shakira has addressed the aftermath of their breakup, notably through her music and a 2023 interview with People en Español.

In the interview, she disclosed how Piqué's actions hurt her deeply, especially during a challenging time when her father was hospitalized after a serious accident.

In a recent Rolling Stone cover story, Shakira reflects on her breakup, describing it as the darkest period of her life, she said, “The suffering I felt was probably the greatest I had ever experienced in my entire life, and it kept me from functioning at times.”

“It felt like someone had stabbed a hole in my chest,” Shakira continued transparently. “And the sensation was so real, almost physical. I physically felt like I had a hole in my chest and that people could see through me.”
