KARACHI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ordered a recount of votes from four polling stations in NA-231 Malir in light of an election tribunal’s decision.

The regional election commissioner ordered the recount in accordance with the tribunal’s decision. All candidates in NA-231, including PPP MNA Abdul Hakim Baloch and petitioner PTI-Backed independent candidate Khalid Mehmood Advocate, have been notified to ensure their attendance in person or through their representatives on June 14 at 11am. The recount was ordered after Khalid Mehmood Advocate filed a complaint alleging rigging. In the February 8 elections, Abdul Hakim Baloch of the PPP had won the NA-231 seat.
