Prince Harry's old friends from Eton and the Army are reportedly reluctant to visit him due to disagreements with his wife, Meghan Markle, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.

The Sussexes stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California. Despite maintaining Frogmore Cottage as a UK residence until June last year, they were evicted following the release of Harry's memoir, Spare.

Quinn, in an exclusive interview with The Mirror, stated, "He [Harry] misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan." He added that Harry is beginning to view his past in the UK nostalgically as the initial excitement of life in the US fades. "As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK. Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles."

Meghan Markle's return to the UK is contingent on having a secure and private residence. "Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential," Quinn explained. "Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives."

The couple is keen on finding a permanent home and resolving security concerns to bring their children, Archie and Lili, to the UK. Quinn noted, "If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue, they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK, but it’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis."
